The Appeal
Introducing the Perentie - a military-specification variant of the legendary Landy, originally built for the Australian Defence Force, pairing rugged Isuzu diesel power with Land Rover's legendary off-road platform. Rarely seen outside Australia, the Perentie has earned a devoted following among overlanding and expedition enthusiasts.
This 1989 example has been restored and rebuilt by Arksen under their 'Project Kakadu' programme, with the work completed in early 2023. To say it's a comprehensive job would be an understatement - it ranges from mechanical upgrades including a turbo addition to the Isuzu diesel and a strengthened drivetrain, along with suspension, winch, and bumper enhancements for off-road use.
Inside, the cabin has been retrimmed and fitted with modern conveniences, while expedition-oriented features such as an auxiliary battery system, on-board water, and refrigeration have been added. Having been with the current owner for over three years, this Perentie represents a rare opportunity to acquire what the vendor describes as a supremely versatile, expedition-ready Land Rover. Beautifully finished in Lichen Green with a Sand canvas roof and aftermarket steelies, it's a wagon that looks ready and waiting to take on truly adversarial terrain with minimum fuss. It's an impressive spec list, and much of it still looks fresh from top to bottom, having been little-used since the build was completed. Arksen_green_Landy_web-92 Jonathan Nicholson.jpg756.19 KB
