Usually, when you see a car described as being in ‘time warp condition’ it means that it’s pretty much as new.
Now we can’t quite claim that for this Morgan, though it is in very good condition indeed, but in a sense, all Morgans are time warp cars because the styling has remained so consistent over the years.
That’s all part of the charm and, of course, over the years the engine and transmission have been updated to keep pace with the available new technology. This example features a 2 litre Rover engine and 5 speed manual gearbox which are sufficiently modern as to offer a level of reliability and also quite a turn of speed in a car that weighs around a tonne.
With four seats, it’s also possible to bring the family along too and, having been little used and regularly serviced over the years, it can be said to offer the perfect blend of period glamour, practicality and performance. In fact, with famously rock-solid residuals, we can’t think of a reason not to get bidding.
Providing a lovely contrast to the paintwork, the red leather which covers the seats, door tops and dash top makes for an inviting cabin that, combined with the walnut dash, looks suitably period.
It’s all in lovely condition too, with a little patina to the leather, some wear to the steering wheel and a bit of misting to the dash and lacquer peel underneath the dials but it’s all in character for a Morgan roadster.
The carpets are in good order too and the dials are fully functional so there’s nothing to get in the way of enjoying the car.IMG_3154.JPG3.95 MB
The Exterior
Royal Ivory White paintwork
Deep dish wire wheels
Front sport lamps
Leather bonnet strap
Mesh headlamp protectors
Alloy look front and rear bumpers
Chrome rear high luggage rack
Ivory white is a classic colour choice for a Morgan and it shows the lines off beautifully, as well as contrasting nicely with the red hood.
Reflecting the limited mileage, the paintwork remains in very good condition with only a few light marks here and there and the other only blemish being a little misting to the edges of the front windscreen.
The silver wire wheels are in very good order and wear tyres with good tread all round, while underneath, as you’ll see from the pictures, is clean and tidy. Overall, the car presents very well and is sure to turn heads wherever it goes.IMG_3121.JPG7.3 MB
Under the bonnet is all very original and the seller reports that the drive very much matches the looks, providing an authentic British sports car experience with an engine that pulls strongly, brakes that are effective and a gearbox that changes smoothly. It’s ready to be enjoyed.IMG_2929.JPG4.65 MB
Summary
There’s classic fun for all the family with a 4 seater Morgan Plus 4. Well maintained and used only lightly, this one has plenty more life in it yet.
