The Appeal
The 944 is one of the gems of the Porsche lineage, particularly the later cars with the more powerful 3L 4cyl engine. Beautifully balanced and with few obvious rivals, these well-built cars make great touring machines, whether open top or coupe.
The later S2 got a raft of improvemenbts typical of Porsche’s thorough approach to improving its cars during their life. This includes the larger 3L 4cyl engine, which gives the car the power to match the chassis dynamics. In this car it is mated to the engaging 5spd manual box.
This car isn’t to be confused with some of the hard-driven, sparingly-maintained examples that can be out there. Well presented in black with a black leather cabin, it has been very well looked after throughout its life, as the service details in the photos and below confirm. The last service was in August 2025 and in recent years the car has had new sills, repairs to the coolant system, new tyres and the wheels refurbished. The MOT runs to August 2026 with no advisories.
