The Appeal
The Mk2 Golf GTI refined the formula that made the original a legend. The later 'Big Bumper' models are particularly sought after for their more resolved aesthetics, and the 8V version of the 1.8-litre engine is prized by enthusiasts for its responsive, tractable power delivery.
This 1990 example is finished in black with the grey 'Rainbow' fabric interior. It has been extensively rebuilt by a Jaguar Master Mechanic, and the results are evident in the photos: bodywork and paintwork present very well, and the interior appears in very good order with few signs of wear.
A handful of sympathetic upgrades enhance the driving experience without compromising the car's character, while it otherwise retains its factory standard appearance, right down to the 'golf ball' gear knob and period radio/cassette player.
Well documented and well sorted, the vendor notes: "It doesn't need any work doing to it. A truly lovely car."
