Highlights
- Rare, late-production T25 "Wedge" variant with Autohomes Komet conversion
- Highly original and unmodified ‘time warp’ camper
- Low displayed mileage of 70,000 miles
- Well-regarded ‘Wasserboxer’ 1.9L petrol engine and 5spd gearbox
- Current MOT to January 2027 with no advisories
The Appeal
The T25 is increasingly popular with enthusiasts because it hits the sweet spot - the character of the early vans, but the practicality and reliability of the later ones. A bigger, boxier body and improved mechanicals make them ideal for long-distance, multi-week excursions.
This very well kept 1990 T25 is a factory Autohaus Komet conversion with Holdsworth high top. Unlike many of its era, it is a highly preserved example that is best described as a ‘time warp.’ The condition is impressive for a 36-year-old van, and it retains many original features.
The mileage is a shade over 70,000 miles on a six-digit odometer. Although we haven’t been able to verify that, the vendor assures us that it is correct. The condition certainly supports it. We are told that there is a good history file, and it comes with a recently refreshed MOT valid to January 2027 with no advisories.
The vendor says:
“The bodywork is very honest and solid for its age. The high-top roof is factory-fitted, providing excellent standing room and extra storage. It has been well-maintained with [mention MOT expiry date]. A folder of history and original manuals is included.
This van is ready to drive to a show or straight to a campsite. This is a rare chance to own a low-mileage, unmolested piece of VW history.”
