1991 BMW 325i CABRIOLET AUTOMATIC (E30)

Highlights

  • Low mileage
  • Part service history
  • Nice original condition

The Appeal

The rear-wheel drive 325i was a sophisticated motor and delivered refinement, smoothness and was a great driver’s car, especially when fitted with the awesome 2.5 litre straight-six engine.

Starting its life in Jersey this low mileage example of the popular cabriolet has only done 66,190 miles, being owned by the current owner for the last 7 years, who has kept it regularly serviced and always garaged.

The History and Paperwork

  • First registered in 1991 in Jersey
  • Imported and registered in UK in 2008
  • Good service record and history
  • Totally original throughout
  • 1 Key and aftermarket alarm fitted
  • MOT expires 18/05/2023
  • V5c present showing 2 UK owners
  • Original owner’s manuals
  • Regularly serviced and maintained
This BMW has been regularly maintained by a local specialist and kept in good running order and completely original.

In the last 6 months the car has done very little mileage and its recent MOT does have a few advisories, which will need to be addressed before its next MOT.

The Interior

  • Nice original blue leather interior
  • Manual roof
  • Electric windows front and rear

The BMW interior has fared well over the years and presents very well for its age, with only some wear being evident on the front seat bolsters and a small crack in the dashboard.

The leather seats are still nice and supportive but would benefit from some leather conditioner to help refresh their appearance.

The carpets and door cards are in really great condition and other than the rear ashtray surround having a bit of its edge missing there is very little of concern to be found in the cabin.

All the instruments and switchgear work correctly and the manual roof is easy and quick to put up or down, and the stereo has an auxiliary input jack to play music from a phone or mp3 player.

The boot is dry and clean and houses the original tool-kit, a spare wheel, jack and wheel-brace.

The Exterior

  • Glacier Blue Metallic
  • Original alloys
  • Good overall condition
A striking and popular colour the Glacier Blue suits the E30 well and although it has a few small imperfections here and there it’s pretty good overall, with only some paint bubbles appearing around the front offside wheel arch and under the front bumper.

The smart alloy wheels are in nice condition, though one of the centres is missing, and overall the car presents itself well with the soft-top being in good condition too, with no rips or tears to be found, and the windows being nice and clear.

The Mechanics

  • Regularly maintained and driven
  • Good service history
  • Recently serviced with very few miles since.
Although the car starts on the first turn of the key its last MOT has detailed quite a few advisories that will need to be addressed prior to its next test as it will need some new tyres and some front brake discs. The exhaust has been repaired and there are a few small areas of corrosion and some bushes that will need replacing too.
The car has done very little mileage over the last couple of years and still drives well and has proved to be very reliable so once these small areas have been addressed it should continue to provide great open-top classic motoring.

The Summary

This 325i is a nice original example that that’s been well looked after during its years and has well below average mileage for its age, and just needs some TLC and a few new parts to get it fighting fit again and ready for many years of BMW classic motoring.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
