The Appeal

The E31 was a statement of intent, a shark-nosed technological tour de force to cement BMW’s marketplace position. No model was as technological or as forceful as the 5litre V12 850i that put 300bhp through the rear wheels.

This 850i will likely appeal to enthusiasts. Sold new in Belgium, it is finished in popular Mauritius Blau with black leather. It was optioned from new with the very rare 6spd manual box. That was by the seller’s father - this low mileage car has been in the same family from new.

A thick history file confirms the low mileage and indicates ongoing care. Regular dry storage has kept the usage low and the condition high. It is sold with a MOT to November 2024 so is ready to use and enjoy.

The Condition

Well kept car finished in Mauritius Blau with generally good paintwork
Some minor marks, scuffs and shallow dents to note in photographs
These include a crack/flake on the paintwork of the rear bumper
There are also two small dents on the driver’s door
Bodywork presents well with panels appearing well kept and accident free
Lattice-style 16in factory alloy wheels in very good condition with matching spare
Fitted with Toyo Proxes tyres but with advisories to note for tyres on last MOT
No structural advisories on last MOT
Well kept high specification black leather interior with barely any wear
There is some wear to driver’s bolster but it is light and could be rectified
Reported to be fully working except driver’s side window
There is a small mark on the headlining
Fitted with electric tilt/slide sunroof, cruise control and electric seats with heating and memory
Factory standard interior but with latter Sony CD fitted
The trip computer digital readout is pixellated, a common problem
We are also told that the steering wheel clicks when turned
