The Appeal
In the late 1980s car makers were all going all wheel drive. With the firm’s penchant for driver-orientated rearward bias, BMW’s simply named ‘X’ AWD system often gets overlooked. But it is where the firm’s modern X Drive system began and it gave buyers a very different ‘ultimate driving machine.’
For E30 customers with pockets not quite deep enough for the M3 there was the 325i, a car that delivered similar power but with the firm’s silken straight six beneath the bonnet. Ticking the ‘X’ AWD option box gave these customers a car that could keep up with the M through the twisties.
This 1991 325iX adds a practical and stylish estate body to that compelling mix. It was imported to the UK from Germany by the previous owner and is in very good order. The Lazur Blue metallic paintwork is in good order and the car looks purposeful with its X AWD wide arches and body kit and BBS-style lattice alloys.
A recent cambelt and water pump change and service plus advisory-free MOT to July 2024 means it is ready for the buyer to enjoy.
