The Appeal
A fixture in the world of the hot hatch - the Renault 5 GT Turbo has never been more desirable. With their boxy aesthetics, and impeccable performance, this thing was gunning for the Peugeot 205 GT, the Volkswagen Golf GTI and the Fiesta XR2 - and held its own ably with stunning prowess. They’re now amongst the rarest of the European hot-hatches and, for our money, one of the most characterful.
This example, first registered in 1991, has spent a good five years in storage before recent recomissioning. A look through its voluminous paperwork file provides a glimpse into a highly impressive rebuild, something that’ll no doubt turn heads to any enthusiast for those heady days of 1990s petrolhead culture. pABR0rS2G42ylVf7ioFaBBsf1Xr1hbDxSqJAykme.jpg1.08 MB
