Here is a nice and honest 190E, the small four-door saloon from Mercedes, which has a great early service record with Mercedes, and has always been looked after.
Mercedes later admitted that the 190E was massively over-engineered, which is a good thing as it featured the 5-link rear suspension set-up, front and rear anti-roll bars, anti-dive and anti-squat geometry and had ABS and air-bags. The 190E also featured the more reliable and efficient Bosch fuel injection, a large improvement over the previous carburettor fed models.
It had its last full service in 2017 since which time it has covered very little mileage.
Badged as LE (Limited Edition) the 190E is a very useable classic car that is now up for reluctant sale and, with only 1,000 of the LE model being produced it’s bound to attract a lot of interest.
Original owner’s manuals and fully stamped up service book
There’s a well stamped up service book so you can tell this is a car that has been well maintained and cared for, always important and reassuring for prospective buyers.
The beige cloth interior is in very nice and clean condition with only a couple of small areas that may require some attention. The overall presentation is good with everything reported to be working as it should, with only both offside door cards needing re-fixing correctly in place.
The pop-up locking button appears to be missing on the rear offside door but otherwise all the carpets, dashboard and other interior trim have fared very well, showing little or no sign of any use or abuse.
The Rosso Red Metallic paintwork is still in good condition with a good shine to it with only a few small issues to sort out.
There’s a small dent in the rear panel and you’ll find a few stone chips up front and on the bonnet. The original wheels have good tyres and do have a few scratches around the rims from kerbing, but overall the car presents itself very nicely.
Mechanically the car drives well and still delivers that famous Mercedes comfortable ride to driver and passengers with the current owner advising of no issues or items requiring work.
A nice, clean and well maintained example of the ever-popular and rare Mercedes 190E LE small saloon, that would make a very useable and practical modern day classic car.
