HISTORY

The first owner was the Mercedes Benz Dealership where it was registered for one week. The second owner had the car for its first four years, having it regularly serviced and maintained by the original supplying Mercedes dealership.

The second owner had the car for the next 22 years, keeping it garaged and regularly serviced and maintained with his local Mercedes Dealer and in later years by an Independent Mercedes Specialist.

In recent years the MOT has picked up a few advisory issues relating to some normal and minor corrosion issues on the rear arches and the rear suspension mounts. These have now all been fully addressed by cutting out the rust where necessary, leaving this car a stunning example.

The car is now being sold as part of an Estate, and thus the third owner recorded was simply a name change to a close relative to facilitate the sale.

PAPERWORK

The current MOT expires in October 2022.

The V5c is present showing 4 previous owners and there are all the MOTs and a full file of receipts for servicing and maintenance including a fully stamped up service book with Mercedes Dealers and Specialists.

The car comes with 4 keys, 2 Alarm fobs, first aid kit, toolkit, warning triangle and all the original Owner’s set of handbooks and manuals.

INTERIOR

Mercedes interiors from this era tended to be simple, functional and very well put together.

This one has stood the test of time well and is a very nice and comfortable place to be. There’s plenty of room in the spacious cabin and all controls are easily reached and all gauges and dials are well displayed for the driver. The electric sunroof makes it extra special on those summer days.

All the seats look as though they have hardly ever been sat in and the carpets, headlining and door cards are all in very nice condition. There is a small crack in the wood veneer on the central console but other than that it’s a very clean and well-presented interior all round that has clearly been very well looked after, though one of the rear speaker grills is missing.

The cavernous boot is clean and dry and features the original first-aid kit, spare wheel, jack and tools, and there is an integrated dog guard that is also included. The load area also features the useful seven-seat option, where the rear dickie seat folds flat into the boot floor.

EXTERIOR

The paintwork is in very good overall condition. There are some small stone chips at the front of the car and a small patch of bubbling paint to be found just above the passenger door handle.

There is a small dent in the front central grill, some very small shopping trolley or similar dings on the passenger side but otherwise the car is in very nice overall condition.

All the lights are clear with rubber seals showing no signs of any fading or cracking except for the one on the driver’s door.

The original alloy wheels have recently been refurbished and fitted with brand new Michelin tyres.

MECHANICS

Mechanically this car has been very well cared for throughout its life, which is reflected in the way it currently looks and drives.

It starts on the first turn off the key and drives superbly with no obvious or known issues to be advised of.

It has also recently had a thorough and full service.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
