1994 Range Rover Classic LSE

HIGHLIGHTS

  • Ultimate luxury version of the last Range Rover Classic
  • Extensive service history
  • Lots of recent mechanical work
  • Coil spring conversion

THE APPEAL

The LSE is in many ways the ultimate Range Rover Classic – a long wheelbase variant with an enlarged 4,275cc V8 and the plushest interior ever offered on the model.

It was a car that set the precedent for the upcoming P38a model, which would truly take the Range Rover into new luxurious territory. It had a new ‘soft’ dashboard and new safety features, such as airbags and ABS.

This one is a great example of an original, unmessed with LSE.

It’s not perfect but nor does it pretend to be – it’s just a fine example of the model in great overall order, with a substantial history file and loads of work recently completed to ensure it’s ready to enjoy for many more years.

THE HISTORY AND PAPERWORK

  • 102k from new
  • Massive file of history and paperwork
  • Freshly serviced by vendor
  • Old books and manuals
  • UK V5C
  • Will be given a new MOT on sale
  • Cherished plate included
  • Owned and previously sold by renowned V8 Range Rover specialist

THE INTERIOR

  • Rich grey leather
  • Excellent seats, carpets and trim
  • Electric memory seats
  • Ice-cold air con
  • Very good headlining

The Range Rover is in great order inside with no major issues – the grey leather trim is in excellent order, as are the carpets, headlining and door trim. There’s some very minor wear to the driver’s side seat bolster but nothing horrific.

All of the major controls work as they’re supposed to and the air conditioning is in great order, blowing ice cold in recent stifling conditions.

THE EXTERIOR

  • Desirable Plymouth Blue
  • Mostly original and very good paint
  • Some minor marks
  • Refurbished alloy wheels
  • Very good arches and bulkhead
  • Excellent chassis

Finished in one of the most desirable colours for a Classic, Plymouth Blue, the LSE looks fantastic and wears mostly original paint, though it has had some lower bodywork repairs in in the past.

It’s described by the vendor as not perfect, but overall very good, as is evidenced by the photos.

The chassis is said to be in perfectly sound order and there’s no rust to be seen in the sills, bulkhead or door shut areas, where Range Rovers commonly have issues.

The alloy wheels are in good order having recently been refurbished and it has good quality tyres all-round.

THE MECHANICS

  • Drives very well
  • Automatic transmission
  • Lots of work recently completed

  • New MOT
  • New skimmed manifold, crankcase, transfer box, breather pipes, vacuum pipes and plugs.

Under the bonnet, the LSE has a 4,275cc version of the famous Rover V8 developed for the model.

It has been comprehensively well-maintained, and has recently had some extensive work, namely a skimmed and refitted manifold, new crankcase, vacuum and breather pipes, rocker covers, plugs and a comprehensive full service, along with a reconditioned transfer box.

The vendor reports that it drives very well in both high and low range and that there are no apparent faults.

A new MOT will be supplied upon sale.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
