The Appeal

The original Fireblade was a game-changer. Born out of a Honda research project, it focused on lightweight construction to deliver a superbike that comprehensively and shatteringly outperformed its heavyweight rivals.

Here is a chance to add a very special first-generation SC28 CBR900RR to your collection. Check the photos, and you’ll see that it’s the 95-on ‘Fox Eye’ model with those distinctive lights and a host of chassis and engine improvements. Then there’s the crowning glory, that Urban Tiger colour scheme, arguably one of the greatest and most collectable liveries to grace a bike in the last 30 or so years.

In short, we love it. And so does the current keeper, who has hung onto it for 30 years since buying it in 1996. He has used it sparingly, clocking up less than 11,000 miles in total. He has personally undertaken all maintenance and servicing during that time. The bike has been in careful dry storage since 2020 and has neither been ridden or started, so will need some recommissioning if you plan to put it back on the road.

For the right enthusiast, this is an opportunity to acquire a very low-mileage early Fireblade in the right specification to appeal to serious collectors.
