The Appeal
For a car that came very close to extinction early in its life, it’s somehow fitting that the final models were labelled ‘Celebration.’ Ostensibly named to mark 60 years of Jaguar, the special edition was also a nod to the success of one of Jaguar’s longest-lived and most characterful cars.
These cars were built in 1995 and 1996 and featured bespoke Sapwood veneers, gold badging, Aerosport alloys with special finish and embossed seats. Most, like this lovely BRG car, were fitted with Jaguar’s robust and well-regarded AJ16 4L straight six, mated to a 4spd auto box.
This very well kept car has had just five keepers during its life and presents well in photos. The luxury Oatmeal leather interior shows little age and the exterior benefits from refurbishment by specialist Bridge Classic Cars. The service book shows a run of 19 stamps, all by main dealers or specialists, with recent service in January 2026. The car has covered barely 100 miles since. We’re told that a reconditioned gearbox was fitted around 10 years ago at 93,000 miles. A new spark plug coil was recently fitted. The current MOT is clear of advisories and runs to December 2026.
