The Appeal
Thought up by Rover's no doubt very excited plant in 1988, the RV8 was a car that took notice of a burgeoning interest in the classic MGB. It was obvious that the roadster was having a bit of a resurgence, and the MGB body shells had even re-entered production to support the developing enthusiast scene. Meanwhile, Cool Britannia was taking off in Japan. It was a perfect opportunity.
The RV8 was highly revised and completely modernised, but the MGB's proportions were clear on display, and its distinctive heritage aesthetic was only accented by the distinctive bug-eye lights and walnut-adorned cabin. Needless to say it was a huge hit - and the RV8 has since become a classic in its own right.
This fine example spent a year in Japan before arriving on British soil, and is a great ambassador to what makes these cars so beloved. Offered with a fresh MOT, this is a nostalgic roadster that's ready and waiting to seduce the lucky new owner.
