The Appeal
Introduced in 1993, the A80 Supra had a clear mission in mind - put stock into making a serious contender in the high-performance market. It's almost unbelievable that it's been over 30 years, really - the car is so loaded with ritzy tech and impressive specs that it maintains a remarkable contemporary flavour. It sticks to the road like treacle and takes off with purposeful speed, absolutely dominating the emerging Japanese market and quickly becoming the stuff of legend.
Naturally, they've become a hugely influential classic, especially if they've got the much-desired manual transmission. The Supra enjoyed only a short life in the UK, so many discerning enthusiasts shot for the grey-import market, where Japanese-spec cars were still readily available, still high-octane and supported by an impressive parts network.
This '96 manual example is one of these JDM imports, and has enjoyed a blessed life while on British soil. In 2019 it underwent an extensive restoration, and since that commenced has enjoyed over £30,000 invested in parts, rebuilds and maintenance. It's a superb example, easy to bring up to concours or a perfectly drivable, eminently impressive car that's ready and waiting to go. image.png3.81 MB
