The Appeal
The E31 was more than a successor to the E24, it was a showcase, a motorised advertisement for a company at the top of its game. Sharp shark nosed styling, high levels of luxury and a stomping range of engines pushed the 8-Series into the top echelons of GT coupes.
Enthusiasts are increasingly turning to these cars as they re-evaluate those qualities. The 4.4litre M62-powered 840 is particularly revered because it features that superlative, well-regarded V8, which also powered M-cars and Ascaris.
