The Jaguar XJ is quite a force in the world of motoring - it was the definitive flagship of the company for some fifty years, and five years after leaving the market, continues to be synonymous with Coventry's finest. You'll hear a lot of opinions about the 'best' XJ, but for many, the late 90's X308 is amongst the most distinguished. With Jaguar’s then-new V8 beneath the bonnet, these cars proved as smooth and capable as they were comfortable and luxurious.
There's no doubt about it - the last of the steel-bodied big Jaguar saloons is rapidly emerging as a collectable classic, especially in 4.0-litre Sovereign specification.
