The Appeal
The CLK ushered in an entirely new market sector when introduced by Mercedes-Benz in 1996. With E-Class influenced design and amenities but a chassis based on the smaller C-Class model, the CLK became the first in what would become a long line of midsize luxury convertibles.
Replacing the legendary W124 series forbear was never going to be easy, but the first generation CLK performed the task well, receiving praise for its all-round characteristic Mercedes build quality with overall solid performance figures and equipment levels.

This 1998 CLK 230 is a great example of what is quickly becoming a highly sought-after, modern classic collector Mercedes-Benz. Smartly presented in a high factory specification, this low mileage, low owner cabriolet sings of the nostalgic quality Mercedes-Benz of years gone by.
The History and Paperwork

- 16” Mercedes five-spoke silver alloys reside at all four corners and look to be of a wonderful standard

- Leather seating with front electric memory controls in the front, exhibiting well but with light wearing to the bolsters
- The seller states that one of the seat adjusters is unreliable

- Smart leather door panels with subtle wood finish embellishments and neat door furniture
- Wood veneer motif throughout the centre of the cabin, in good form with a glossy shine throughout
