2000 Aston Martin DB7 V12 Vantage

Highlights

  • Smooth V12 grand tourer
  • Low mileage
  • Lovely condition

The Appeal

With a fabulous body styled by Ian Callum and a monstrous V12 engine, the DB7 is an accomplished GT car that oozes charm. One of the most attainable modern Astons, it is supported not only by the network of main dealers but also a variety of specialists across the country.
This example eschews the popular silver and grey paint options and instead is presented in the lovely Mendip Blue, with a grey and blue interior to match. It spent sixteen years in the hands of a collector prior to the current ownership and there’s evidence in the history that it’s been thoroughly maintained, with all new shock absorbers in 2014 and all the MOT advisories remedied.
Now having accumulated fewer than 35,000 miles, it’s in fabulous condition and is ready for a new owner to enjoy it. So if you want to be able to utter the alluring words ‘shall we take the Aston?’ when you next embark on a road trip, then get your bid in now.

The Interior

  • Slate grey and blue leather
  • Branded floor mats
  • In-built battery conditioner
As is befitting of a high end luxury GT, the cabin of the DB7 is very well appointed with soft leather and wood veneer gracing most of the surfaces. Here the seats are faced with slate grey leather and the dash top, doors and seat backs are in blue to complement the exterior hue.
It’s all in excellent condition, too, with only a small amount of wear to the driver’s seat bolster which reflects its limited usage over the years.
Up above, the headlining is clean and secure while under your feet the deep pile carpets are unmarked and protected by a matching set of branded mats.
The boot is also very clean and tidy and houses the amplifier for the stereo which is thought to be original. An in-built battery conditioner is also a nice touch which helps to keep the car ready for action even if it continues to be used sparingly.

The Exterior

  • Achingly beautiful design
  • Mendip Blue metallic paint
  • Smart wheels with Bridgestone tyres
It’s a refreshing change to see a modern Aston Martin with some colour to it as silver, grey and black are the most common choices. But we’re very taken with the Mendip blue colour which really helps the car to stand out while showing off its gorgeous curves in the sun, which was sadly present for only some of our photoshoot.
Limited use and careful storage have paid dividends with this car’s condition and the paintwork shows barely a mark on it. Likewise the wheels show no signs of kerbing and although a couple of the centre caps are showing their age a little, it would be straightforward for a fastidious new owner to obtain some replacements.
The underside is similarly said to be in good condition while the tyres are all Bridgestones and have a good level of tread remaining. In all, it will be a joy to clean and polish.

The Mechanics

  • 5.9 litre V12
  • Five speed automatic gearbox
  • Drives just as it should
Under the bonnet there’s a very clean engine bay and a monster of an engine. It fires up with the delicious sound that characterises an Aston V12 and, even by modern standards, it’s a genuinely quick car. The seller reports that it drives without any issues at all to report - no smoke, unusual noises, or anything to distract from the smooth torquey delivery of the sonorous V12. Gear changes are smooth and the brakes are strong.

Overall, it’s ready to go.

Summary

A pampered and very low mileage example of Aston Martin’s modern classic GT car in a wonderful colour which should bring its next owner a great deal of pleasure.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
