The Appeal

Thanks to its impeccable engineering, the R129's structure and mechanics are as enduring as its popularity, but it is the special-edition cars that garner the most appeal. The SL Edition was available for one year in 2000, and featured special-order Designo Mystic Blue paintwork, 18-inch BBS Albireo two-part alloys, uprated brakes, birds-eye maple veneers, and other neat tweaks such as aluminium-effect trim.

Just 700 were available worldwide, with only a handful sold in RHD UK configuration. All of which makes this very smart SL320 SL Edition rare and desirable. As a later R129, it uses the new 'M112' 221bhp V6 engine, which provides a decent blend of performance and efficiency. It also features the rare glass ‘panoramic’ roof, further dialling up the appeal.

The car is in good order and displays low mileage for the year. It’s a view supported by the MOT, which runs to March 2027.
