The Appeal
The Boxster finally gave Porsche enthusiasts a credible alternative to the 911, but they quickly identified that its capable chassis could handle much more power. The ‘S’ solved that problem, dialling up performance to 250bhp thanks to the 3.2L flat six engine.
Buyers won’t struggle to find a Boxster to buy, but we suspect few command the appeal of this very tidy Speed Yellow manual gearbox example. It has covered less than 49,000 documented miles from new, most of it in the hands of a single family who have owned it since February 2001. The condition is impressive, the paintwork presents well, and the interior does not obviously succumb to the usual scuffs and marks that can plague Porsches of this era.
The history file supports the sense of a much-loved car. It shows a run of servicing stamps by main dealers and independents to 48,000 miles in 2023. Recent work has included repairs to the fuel system and other minor remedial work, which is documented below and in a useful typed list provided by the seller in the photos. The current MOT runs to November 2026 with a single extremely minor advisory for the original rear number plate.
The vendor says:
“Full service history from February 2001. Engine starting and running well. Factory standard.
“Finally, how would you summarise the vehicle? Very good to drive. It holds the road well and is a comfortable car.”
