The second generation or P38 model Range Rover, was first released to the public in 1994 and production ran through to 2001 before being superseded by the third generation L322 model.

The Holland and Holland limited editions were built by Land Rover Special Vehicles, who in collaboration with London gunmakers Holland & Holland, designed and specified the ultimate country  Range Rover.

It’s not very often these very high specification Holland & Holland editions come onto the market and that’s not surprising as out of the 400 built, 300 were destined for export to the USA leaving only 100 available to UK buyers so you’re unlikely to come across another on the road.

What we have here is one of these exclusive limited editions which would have cost over £60,000 when new in 2000. Prices have bottomed out and the market is now starting to recognise these Classic Range Rovers as great buys and real value for money motoring.

Interiors featured dark tan leather seats with a lighter piping which followed through onto the door cards and dashboard. Wood veneers adorn both the dash, centre console and door cappings and were said to replicate gun stocks on Holland & Hollands exquisite shotguns.

The seats are all in excellent condition and are finished in high grade dark tan leather with a lighter tan piping.  The front seats both have electric adjustment which we’re told works well, although currently the heating elements do not . Both fronts have arm rests in good condition, the driver’s side has a trim missing on the side. Rear seats are in equally good condition and don’t appear to carry any signs of wear.

Door cards and carpets are looking good with the wooden inserts standing up very well with their H & H engravings. The lighter tan leather on the dash is in fine fettle as are the wooden dash inserts, although those on the centre console are suffering from sun damage but we’re sure could be refinished.

The roof lining is in need of a little attention due to sagging, but this is a common problem and can usually be rectified quite easily. An electric sunroof, satellite navigation and rear seat wooden tables added to the high-end specification contributing to lofting these Range Rovers to the height of luxury motoring.

Exteriors were painted in the one-off Tintern Green, with wheels and bumpers colour coded accordingly. This 22 years old Range Rover is showing a few marks, but doesn’t appear to have been re-painted .

There are the usual stone chips around the front grill & behind the wheels all round and a little wear to the black paint around the door tops, nothing that detracts from it’s great looks & to be expected.

Wheels are all in good condition without any kerbing marks, just a little flaking in places.

The wonderful V8 starts up easily and appeared to run smoothly when warmed up and moved around for the photoshoot.

We’re by the vendor that on the road, the auto box selects gears smoothly and overall, the Range Rover drives really well.

The air suspension has been removed and replaced by coil springs all round, thereby solving one of the main issues with older Range Rovers but still providing a very comfortable ride.

A good looking, high specification Range Rover which should continue to give driving pleasure for many years to come .

Be it a daily driver or weekends, high days and holidays , country cottage or country estate, this top of the range Holland & Holland edition Range Rover will never look out of place.
