NO RESERVE! 2000 Toyota WiLL Vi

No Reserve!

Highlights

∙Japanese Import
∙Automatic
∙1.3 Litre

The Background

The Toyota WiLL was born out of a collaboration by a number of companies such as Toyota , Panasonic, Asahi breweries and Kinki Nippon Tourist Company. The idea was simple, to design a whole range of lifestyle products for the Japanese youth which would encourage them to use home grown products.
The idea was keep it simple, make it funky and it will sell like hotcakes with the up and coming generation.
This collaboration also saw the design and production of a Laptop, a collapsible bike even a Beer all bearing the WiLL Vi name. Not made for export in numbers there are not many that have made it to our shores and the WiLL initially didn’t sell in huge numbers and so it was only in production for 2 years 2000/2001, this means there aren’t that many around.

The History

This particular example was imported by its current owner some 18 months ago. Prior to import, not a lot is known of its history but since he landed in the UK it has been taxed and serviced several times and has also been MOT’d.

The Paperwork

There is a logbook and all receipts for servicing and MOTs from the car's history in the UK.

The Interior

The interior is tidy, it features an unusual layout of both front and rear seats being in a bench style. The chunky Tan coloured plastics against the crème upholstery stand out and are certainly a bold funky statement. The car also sports an expensive Kenwood touchscreen head unit.

The Exterior

The pastel pink paint on the vehicle is clean with only minor stone chips visible, there is also one small area of paint discolouration on the passenger side of the front bumper (pictured) The hub caps are scratched.
The design/shape was supposed to be a throwback to the 60s with cars like the Ford Anglia lending their inspiration for the rear window.
The car is also fitted with the optional fold back cloth roof making it a joy for trips out in the sunshine.

The Mechanics

The 1.3 litre Toyota engine pulls the small car along nicely through the 4 speed automatic gearbox. Any mechanical servicing and parts needed during its time in the UK have been sourced and fitted. With the car being based on a MK1 Toyota Yaris parts are easily sourced here in the UK.

The Appeal

This car is a perfect example of Japanese quirkiness, its 60’s inspired styling, the pastel pink paint work with added glitter and its functional chunky interior make it a pleasant sweet little car to own.
Due to being based on a popular offering from Toyota but with a cheeky fun body design the car will definitely stand out in a crowd but also be easy to maintain and source parts for if needed.
If you're after something a little different and quirky, something that sets you apart from the average European supermini in a car park, there can't be more than a handful of these on UK soil.
