The Appeal
This is the kind of car you want to find - a single keeper, enthusiast owned example that has clearly been cherished. Owned by a Alfa Romeo Owners Club member from new and always serviced and maintained by him personally, this smart Alfa Red convertible is one of the nicest 916 Spiders we’ve seen in a long while. The seller describes it as close to concours, which the photos support.
Aficionados will note that this car is the later Phase 2 model with the attractive revised interior. This one is highly original and even retains the rare-as-hens-teeth factory radio cassette. Beneath the clamshell is Alfa’s zesty 150bhp Twin Spark, a light, revvy powerplant that helps gives these cars great balance and handling.
The car has covered low miles for its age and the history file shows a run of regular servicing and maintenance by the seller. We’re told that it would benefit from a service and cambelt change based on age rather than mileage. The current MOT test runs to June 2027 with a few points to note.
Few modern classic convertibles have the charisma and charm of a 916. This car, with its rare provenance and condition, definitely stands out.image.png2.03 MB

✓ We want a smooth transaction just as much as you do and as such we run all UK-registered cars and motorbikes for sale on Car & Classic through an online HPI check to verify that they show no insurance database markers for damage or theft, and have no finance owing, allowing you to bid with confidence.
✓ We also check whether vehicles are recorded as being written off as part of an insurance total loss claim at the time an advert is placed on Car & Classic and we helpfully provide write-off category labels (Cat C/D/S/N) for your assistance. However, the presence or absence of a label does not guarantee the vehicle’s status and it is always worthwhile carrying out your own full vehicle history check before making an offer on a vehicle.
