The Ford F-Series has been around since 1948, when the first generation was launched. It was sold in eight different weight ratings, from pick up, panel truck, cab over engine, conventional truck and school bus. The second generation was used more as a pickup, like we know today. 

The F-Series continued to develop over the years with different generations being released every 5 or so years, each having slight improvements, power and looks over the previous model.  In 1997, Ford were up to the tenth generation of the F-series, which is this particular model we have here. 

Produced up until 2004, the tenth generation F-Series came in a number of forms, and with different engine options such as the 4.2 litre V6, 4.8 litre V8, or this one, the more powerful 5.4 litre V8. Amongst other changes, the suspension received fully independent front suspension, ending the use of the Twin I-beam axles previously used. Tried and tested, the F-Series still continues to develop now, up to the fourteenth generation and going strong.

 

The seller of this lovely Ford F-150 has owned the car for just a few months. It was purchased simply because he loved it and remembered his friend having a new one. Clearly well cared for, the F-150 is in beautiful condition. 

Unfortunately, the purchase was made along with another large car, and already tight on space, the seller has decided to reduce his collection and the F-150 is up for grabs. 

The V5 is present and shows there have been 9 previous keepers since arriving in the UK in 2003.

The owner’s handbook, wallet and service book are present. The service book has 7 stamps, and there is plenty of other paperwork stating what work has been carried out on the F150, which, when you start adding it all up, comes to quite an amount.

A healthy MOT history comes with the F-150, with the current one expiring on the 7th June 2022.

The Inside of the F-150 is in extremely good condition for the age of the vehicle. The light grey leather electric seats are sporting the embossed Lariat logo. The driver’s seat has some creasing to the leather, but only as you would expect. It is not split anywhere and the passenger seat has less creasing.

The dashboard shows no signs of any wear and is in excellent condition, and the instrument binnacle is free from any noticeable scratches. All the gauges are reported to be working as they should, with the odometer displaying a reading of 55,110 miles. The switchgear is all in nice condition, with no wear to the lettering on the stalks or heater controls. 

There has been an Alpine head unit fitted which is Bluetooth enabled, and it also has an Alpine reverse camera fitted to the rear of the car. A nice feature, which was an optional extra, is the ability to raise and lower the pedals, bringing them closer to you for the perfect seating position. There is a dash cam in the images, please note this will be coming out at the point of sale. The steering wheel does have some stitching that has worn through on the left hand side, but the leather is still in place. 

To the rear, the suicide style doors open up nicely to allow access to the rear seat, which is in excellent condition. The carpet shows no real excessive wear, and there is a set of Lariat mats to protect it. Up above, as you've probably guessed, the headlining is in good order with no marks to mention. There is a sliding rear window fitted to allow some ventilation without the noise being too intrusive, although the sound of a 5.4 V8 is hardly intrusive.

The load area of the truck has a load liner to protect the floor, and this does have some scratches from use as you would expect. 

The standout feature on this stunning F-150  Lariat Flareside is the respray. The truck was in black when it left the factory. It has been resprayed to an excellent standard which has included all the door shuts. It doesn't end there, the dark blue colour and the orange stripes are also painted on, and then the whole lot has been lacquered over to complete the look. The truck has recently been coated in Sureguard to protect it

Starting at the front, and straight off we should say that stone chips or marks on the truck are very minimal, (if any). The headlights and fog lights are all in excellent condition with no chips or cracks, and the chrome bumper is in good order with no dinks or dents.  

Around to the side, the darker blue incorporates the F-150 logo which, as mentioned, is lacquered over for a smooth finish. The doors align as they should, with the rear doors opening suidice style. The rear bed is the wider Flareside, which has the side step should you need it. 

Again, like the rest of the vehicle, it looks straight as a die. On the driver’s door there is a keypad under the handle. The seller has never used this, and it’s believed to be an immobiliser or alarm but has never been tested.

Around to the rear, the chrome bumper and step are in good condition with no damage to mention. The custom paintwork continues to the back door, with the dark blue and orange painted individually and then clear coated. There is a towbar fitted, and just above the tiny Alpine reverse camera.  

The five spoke SVT wheels are generally in good condition. There is some crazing to the paint finish on a couple of the wheels, but that would be an easy fix. The tyres are all in good condition and have plenty of tread remaining. 

The 5.4 litre V8 pulls this monster F-150 along with great ease. It starts on the button and sounds fantastic through the custom Magnaflow exhaust system. 

The transmission is automatic, and the change is reported to be silky smooth as the V8 glides through the gears. The rear differential was rebuilt in 2013, just over 15,000 miles ago, so should be trouble free for the new keeper. 

When driving the F-150, there are no noises to report coming from the suspension, transmission or engine. 

A one off custom paint job which is in excellent condition throughout. The truck looks to have been well cared for by all of its owners since coming to the UK in 2003.
