The Appeal
Okay, hear us out... MPV's don't have to be dull.
The Galaxy / Sharan was a shared platform development between Volkswagen & Ford in the mid/late 1990's. Good build quality and reliable mechanicals made these market leaders.
Volkswagen's autobahn bashing VR6 engine has plaudits galore, delivering exciting performance with a sweet exhaust note, but it wasn't just reserved for the rapid hot-hatch Golfs or sleek Audi TT's. Some of those powerplants made their way into the Galaxy & Sharan lux models. As pedestrian as MPV's can often be, we defy any true petrolhead to contain their delight at piloting Ford's cruise-ship with, what feels like, a rocket-booster strapped to their back.
This first-generation facelift Galaxy boasts low mileage, smart spec, impressive history and low ownership. Very few come to market these days, at all, let alone examples with such impressive credentials. Close inspection suggests to us that this Galaxy, despite its sure-footed capabilities, has had a very gentle and well cared-for life. Be it a welcome addition to a pedigree Ford collectors stable, a shrewd sleeper classic investment, or a cool solution for family-ferrying, we think this punchy MPV will represent outstanding value.
