The Appeal
While BMW and Audi were filling 90s executive parking spaces with sharp-handling sporting saloons, Peugeot was aiming for something entirely different. The swooping 607 was quintessentially French, a car designed around the laudable themes of serenity and comfort.
Unfortunately, British executives wanted a firm ride and a sporty feel, so the serene 607 was never a big seller. This well-kept 2.2L petrol SE is a chance to discover what a coterie of enthusiasts already knows: these are big, comfortable saloons in a style that seems long-lost. It looks smart in dark blue metallic and comes with a high specification full grey leather interior.
The car is fitted with the 158bhp 2.2-litre 16V petrol engine and a suitably relaxing automatic ‘Tiptronic’ style gearbox sourced from Porsche. The vendor reports that it drives well and was fitted with four new Pirelli tyres in late 2025. Added reassurance is in the form of a lengthy MOT to December 2026. If you’re after some smooth, Gallic-themed daily driving wheels, look no further.
The vendor says:
Lovely to look at and nice to drive. 2.2 engine quite spritely and economical.”
