The Appeal

The 996.2 got a bigger 3.6L engine with more power, a stiffer chassis to improve handling and interior quality was improved. This early Tiptronic-equipped Carrera 2 has been used and enjoyed but, crucially, has been properly maintained. It left the factory with some desirable options such as the 18in Turbo-look alloys and presents smartly in desirable ‘black on black’ with a recently renovated interior.

The service book shows a run of regular stamps by main dealers and blue chip specialists like Cavendish, Portiacraft, GT One, Hartech and Specialist Cars of Malton. Highlights include an engine rebuild at 112,000 miles plus a gearbox service at 115,000 miles. The IMS bearing was replaced during the gearbox work. The last service was in March 2026 when a useful borescope inspection was undertaken and revealed a clean bill of health. The details are available for the buyer to check if required.
