The BMW E46 was the fourth generation of the BMW 3 Series range of compact executive cars, which was produced by the German manufacturer BMW from 1997 to 2006. As was the successor to the E36, this model was first introduced in November 1997. It was available with saloon, coupé, convertible, touring and hatchback body styles, with Alpina models and the famed M3 versions topping the range. They quickly built a reputation as a dynamic driver’s car with excellent build quality.
This car was new to Jacksons BMW in Jersey, and the dealer kept it for 3 months until it reached 2k miles. It was then sold to its previous owner and it was sparingly used over the next 20 years adding a little over 5k additional miles in it.
The car has been serviced every year despite having only covered several hundred miles annually and the car’s condition reflects the fact it's been cherished and tucked away in a dry garage for most of its life.
The car was imported from Jersey and stored and is now for sale in Somerset, UK.
The car comes with the registration documents from Jersey, a service book , owners wallet and manuals a number of receipts for past work and evidence backing up the car’s history.
The car has also passed a recent MOT test, and has a full set of keys including the valet key.
The car still wears its Jersey plates and registration - the sellers state that UK Registration costs will be included in the purchase price. The new owner will become the first recorded owner if UK based.
The cream leather interior of the car is in fantastic condition with absolute minimal wear as to be expected from a 7k mile car. The driver’s seat bolster, which is a common area for wear, is in fantastic condition and the original mats have been fitted with over mats so have been spared any wear or stains.
The steering wheel, dash, switches, and all other plastics are pretty much as new. The condition is fantastic, and the rear seats look to have never been used.
The dark Orient blue paint work on the car is in great condition as you can see in the photos which is consistent with the cars low mileage. The underside is also in stunning condition.
There is one small chip on the passenger side rear door opening and it will be corrected before sale. The tyres have good tread and these have been changed in recent times however the original alloy wheels have some minor age-related marks.
The car is barely worn in mechanically, but it has been maintained on a regular basis and regardless of the miles travelled. It feels tight and runs well.
Under the bonnet, it looks almost brand new and it simply hasn’t been affected by road grime or dirty mechanic’s fingers.
All the standards stickers are present and it’s a very presentable engine bay.
The BMW E46 followed the popular E36 and it too was a popular and much improved step ahead. Even though the design is now 20 or more years old, The E46 is still a good-looking ... and sought after car. Much like the E36 which is almost 30 years old, prices are on the rise.
This example has seen very little use at all, spending most of its life tucked up in a nice dry garage and used sparingly. Nevertheless, it has been well maintained and clearly has been cherished given its condition.
It must be one of the lowest mileage E46 models out there, and being a 2.5 six cylinder M Sport model, it is a very desirable car and surely now a collector’s item.
It is in incredible condition and if you’re after the cleanest example of them all, this one should be up as one of the very best.
