The Appeal
As any Land Rover enthusiast knows, Special Vehicles models are, well, just as the name suggests. Built on a different line to the regular Defenders, these models featured bespoke upgrades and were often built for utilities companies.
This 2002 110 was built on the Special Vehicles line for Scottish Power and features a number of improvements, notably various storage boxes and a revised rear body with windows removed. It was repainted in appropriately menacing black in 2012, four years before the vendor acquired it.
He has used it regularly whilst keeping the servicing and maintenance up to date. He’s even taken it to Morocco, where he and his dog used it as a camper. It has been little used over the last 12 months but has received a new starter and batteries recently.
The MOT runs to May 2026. There are a few advisories to note, but that ticket provides plenty of time to sort them. This Defender is firmly at the usable, practical end of the scale and as such will likely appeal to diehard marque enthusiasts.
The vendor says:
“It’s been a great vehicle. I've driven it to Morocco and slept in it with the dog.”
