The Background
The ultimate Grand Tourer and the car of choice for 007, making its appearance in “Die Another Day” the Aston Martin Vanquish is seen as the last of the “real” Aston’s, extensively built by hand at the old Newport Pagnell works factory and heralded by the motoring press as the ultimate GT car.
In a break of tradition the Vanquish had a six speed manual gearbox, this done away with a clutch pedal, and for the first time in an Aston a paddle shift gearbox.
The most notable part of the Vanquish though was the 5.9 litre V12 engine, this was engineered with Cosworth and was evolved from the DB7 Vantage. Producing 460 bhp and a top speed of 190 mph the power, noise and looks make this one of the most stunning cars to look and drive, plus if its good enough for James Bond who wouldn’t want to own such a stunning piece of machinery.

The Vanquish was also built in relatively small numbers, adding even more desirability to the cars current values.
The History
This Tungsten Silver with black leather is the same as Bond’s car in “Die Another Day”, the current owner is an Aston and 007 fan, this car forms part of his current collection and the colour combo ties in with the Bond appeal. The car has been meticulously maintained and does have four previous keepers, one was added in the same family as the car had been taken over to Australia for a short period from 2006-2007.
The car has been in the seller's possession since 2004, it was registered by a dealer then purchased by the second owner who had it for just under a year. The car is in extremely good condition and the owner has not spared any expense it looking after it, invoices total up to £30,000 during the last few years alone.
The car comes complete with stamped service books, manuals, all invoices and even the original aluminium bound notepad and instruction booklets. Also two sets of keys are present.
The Paperwork
This car has a wealth of stamps, receipts and original books with it. The photographs show only a fraction of the cars history since it was first registered and highlights the owners love for this V12 Aston Martin.
The car has an MOT which expires in July 2022.

The Interior
The interior throughout is in exceptional condition, all leather seats are in very good order with the rear seats like new. There is some light creasing on the drivers bolster but this does not require attention, just as you would expect due to general wear due to its age. Door cards are clean and no marks appear on them, the aluminium door handles are also in good order.
The alcantara diamond headlining is clean and shows no sign of its eighteen years of age, in perfect condition. All switches, controls are in working order and show very little wear, such is the high standard of build quality of this car.
The only area that we could see that is damaged is on the off side rear speaker where the surround of leather has come away. The boot area is clean and comes with the Aston first aid kit, plus you have the Linn amplifier, six disc CD unit and navigation units in the back.
The owner does note that the Linn head unit is fully operational but the amplifier is not, this would need attention to get it working fully.
The Exterior
The Tungsten Silver metallic is in excellent condition, no bumper scuffs or wing mirror marks. The only area which has been touched in appears on the edge of the drivers door, the photographs highlight this along with a few touched in chips along the edge of the drivers door, these are minimal though.
All wheels are clean and have no scuff marks on, a few small chips are on a couple of the wheels but only visible on close inspection. The centre caps have marks on them due to the age of the vehicle and can easily be replaced if the new owner wishes to obtain a set.
All tyres are matching performance Yokohama Advan Sports, there was an advisory on the recent MOT and new tyres have been replaced since.
In addition to the standard car the current owner added a colour coded lip spoiler which replaced the black version, this ties in nicely and gives the car a sleeker look. Also a Vanquish badge has been added on to the tailgate.
The Mechanics
The cars service history is extensive, with early Aston Martin dealership stamps in the book and since then a mixture of specialist and main dealers.
Recently the car has had a gearbox overhaul, this resulted in an invoice of over £10,000, Magma sensor has been done as well and the clutch.
This all took place around 35,000 miles where the ASM pump was also replaced.

The Appeal
The ultimate GT car, V12, stunning looks, the choice of car for 007 and a blistering soundtrack makes this a supercar with pedigree.
Whether you are a Bond fan, Aston collector or a super car fan this V12 is going to always get attention and be a truly desirable and comfortable sports car.
This is the car for stretching its legs on the continent, or even on some twisting B roads in the UK as its classic and dynamics are exceptional, even by today's standards.
