The Appeal
Bolting a big Eaton supercharger to its new AJ8 engine turned the super smooth XK8 into an equally smooth but somewhat more fire-breathing sports GT.
The 400bhp XKR evoked the deliciously quick post-war XKs and today offers buyers something quite different from contemporary German metal. These are luxurious and comfortable convertibles that are as at home on a long-distance road trip as they are at a classic car show.
This 2003 XKR will be a treat for enthusiasts. It is an exceptionally low mileage car - less than 24,000 miles - with just two keepers. Finished in smart Racing Green metallic, it is fitted with the upgraded 4.2litre version of that silky V8 and some appealing factory options. These include navigation, heated screen, BBS split-rim alloys and cross-drilled brake discs.
A thick history file - virtually all by main Jaguar dealers - and a long, advisory-free MOT to November 2024 further underline the sense of a carefully curated car.
