The Appeal

The R230 fundamentally changed what Mercedes’ multi-generational ‘Sport Leicht’ roadster was all about. Thanks to its clever ‘Vario’ folding hardtop, it offered buyers the choice of coupe or convertible motoring at the press of a button. Finally, here was a year-round, all-weather SL.
