The Appeal

Gracing the world's road for 60 years this year the Porsche 911 has offered amazing driving characteristics for a reasonable cost when compared to offerings from other marques. Debuting in 1997 the 996 generation of the 911 was a ground-breaking model, being the first 911 to use a water-cooled engine Porsche could unlock even more potential with their halo model.

This example has been beautifully looked after over its life and with only two previous owners it has always received anything and everything it could need. It is now waiting for you to hop in and create some amazing motoring memories.

The History and Paperwork

  • This Porsche has had an excellent history and a lot of it is documented with paperwork
  • The service book is very well stamped with Porsche Centre stamps and Porsche specialists
  • Within the paperwork, you’ll find copies of old MOTs and old V5s
  • The current MOT and V5 are also present
  • A lot of the paperwork is Porsche stamped, or completed by Porsche specialists
  • Importantly the previous owner owned and ran a Porsche service/restoration business
  • It was this previous owner that has completed a lot of work on this 911 throughout their ownership
  • In 2019 the Tiptronic gearbox had a service at Porsche Centre Silverstone
  • During 2019 the ABS pump was also replaced
  • The most important invoice in the bundle is the one from September 2018 which is when the engine was replaced
  • In total this job cost the previous owner a little over £15,000
  • This 3-page invoice has been photographed so you can get an idea of the work that went into it
  • Along with the large invoices, there are smaller assorted invoices for other works
  • The alloys have also been recently refurbished
  • You can probably tell that this 996 has been looked after properly throughout its life
  • It is now your chance to get behind the wheel of this modern classic

The Interior

  • New PCM fitted
  • Fully working sunroof
  • Black leather seats
When you slip yourself into the sleek black interior of this 996 you know that you’re about to have an amazing experience. Simply put the gearbox in drive and set off into the sunset in great comfort in your new 996 C4S. The first owner of this car opted to fit a black leather interior which complements the exterior silver very well. Its black leather seats have aged very well indeed with no obvious areas of damage. The natural leather will stretch and conform to its occupants so there are some slight creases in the driver’s seat, but this is just because it’s the seat that experiences the most use.

Other black leather areas of the interior include the dashboard, the door cards, and the steering wheel. All of these items have also aged very well showing little signs of wear and tear. Set behind the distinctive Porsche steering wheel you’ll find a vast array of dials that show all of the important driving information. These were shot with the car running which helps to show that the car has great oil pressure and also charges the battery at a strong 14 volts.

Sat in the middle of the centre console you’ll find the PCM or Porsche Communication Management. As we have mentioned a new PCM has recently been fitted which means that all of the functions work as they should, and the picture displayed is vibrant and clear. Around the PCM you’ll find other dials to play with, we’d recommend the exhaust button which controls the variable stainless steel system. Looking at some smaller details of the interior the carpets are in incredible condition along with all of the buttons and switchgear.

Checking in the boot of this 911 you can see that the care has not just stopped at looking after the interior. The carpets fitted in the boot are in great condition and lifting the bottom carpet will reveal the original space-saving spare wheel and other Porsche tools.
Every time you get into this 996 you will be setting yourself up for an incredible experience that other cars cannot come close to. Simply get in, slide down into those big sporty Porsche seats, pull the gear selector to drive, and away you go.

The Exterior

  • Professionally detailed
  • Alloys recently refurbished
  • 18” Turbo alloys fitted at the factory
A 911 is instantly recognisable, every generation has been an evolution rather than a revolution. The 996 styling may have been a talking point at the time, but it has grown into its features and is now a simply elegant modern classic with some great flowing lines.

Finished in stunning silver this 996 looks amazing from every angle. The paintwork has recently had a session with a detailer, so it looks stunning, it now has an amazing sheen and pop to it just like it would’ve had when it was new.

From the factory the car came with turbo-looking alloys, these beautiful 5-spoked alloys have recently been through a restoration process, and they look as good as new. They are also shod in a matching set of Pirelli P Zeros, another indicator that the previous owners have cared about their sports car.

There are a few minor stone marks to the paint around the front bumper, and a slight mark to the bumper just below the Porsche badge, but this is expected of a 20-year-old car.

Overall, the exterior of this Porsche is in amazing condition. Wherever you wish to display this modern classic you can do it with pride.

The Mechanics

  • A new engine fitted 5,000 miles ago
  • New brake discs fitted
  • Full-service history
  • Maintained by Porsche and Porsche specialists
  • Tiptronic gearbox was recently serviced
  • New stainless steel switchable sports exhaust
Although the 911 looks good inside and out it is mainly about the way it makes you feel when you’re out on the road attacking some B-roads or mountain passes. Thanks to a mix of regular maintenance and big mechanical work this 996 is in amazing mechanical condition.

The Carrera 4s gained a few performance upgrades over the normal Carrera 4 which resulted in 320hp from its 3.6l naturally aspirated engine. This example then sends this power to the rear wheels or to all 4 wheels dependent upon the road conditions through its 5-speed Tiptronic gearbox.
Having recently had a new engine and gearbox service the two major mechanical components of this car’s drivetrain are both in very good condition and ready to go.

On the day of the photoshoot, the car started first time, every time of asking. It then maneuvered around the location with ease. The current owner also said that the car was great out on the road.

Overall, this 996 is in very good Mechanical condition and it’s just waiting to get out and about this summer.
