The Appeal

Back when the Continental GT launched it was a little bit marmite, but over the years momentum has gathered around the model and today everyone can’t help to love these cars.

This example is presented in very good condition all around, the low mileage also is another major factor for why you should purchase this one. Over the years it has been looked after well and it is now your chance to experience a slice of British luxury for only a fraction of its retail price.

The History and Paperwork

  • Hitting the road in 2004 this Bentley has travelled very few miles
  • In that time, however, it has always been kept serviced and maintained to the highest standards
  • The pre-delivery inspection was carried out by Jack Barclays of London, its first two services would also be carried out by the dealer
  • It then moves towards the Cotswolds area from around 2007-2010
  • From there it moves across to Essex and finally finds it current owner in 2020
  • This has been plotted through the cars well stamped service book
  • It is not only the original service book present, there are also all of the original handbooks in their nice leather bound carrying pouch
  • You will also find all of the CD’s for the sat-nav, ranging from here in the UK to as far afield as Scandinavia
  • There are a lot of invoices within the paperwork bundle, you can spend a good afternoon looking through them
  • Since owning the car the owner has covered around 1,000 miles, but thoroughly enjoyed the experience
  • It is now your chance to get behind the wheel of what is possible the best example of an early Continental GT

The private number plate in not included in the sale, the original number plate will be assigned to the car (image in gallery).

The Interior

  • Beautiful combination of wood and leather
  • Well specced
  • Incredibly comfortable
  • Lots of tech
  • New sheep wool rugs (originals in boot)
Now, all interiors are important, but the interior of a luxury car is incredibly important. This is the space where you will spend all of your time when you’re on the road, so you’ll be happy to hear that the interior of this luxury cruiser is in amazing condition.

As one of the leaders in luxury vehicles it is no surprise that the interior of this Bentley uses some of the best materials and expensive pieces of tech available at the time. As the driver, you will be sitting in some of the best leather seats out there. Electrically operated you will be able to find the most comfortable driving position. With so few miles on the odometer, it will be no surprise to hear that all of the seats throughout are presented in very good condition. If you look hard enough you may find some small areas that you may wish to clean up, but no areas that need patching or repairing.

It is not only the seats covered in leather, but the majority of the interior is also finished in a dark green, olive like leather that complements the exterior well. From the front to the rear this leather looks as good as new, with no areas of sun bleaching or obvious damage. It's another feature that helps reinforce the luxurious feeling of this amazing early ‘00s GT car.

To round off the interior's high-end materials the other remaining areas of the centre console, door cards, and rear passenger section are all surrounded by this beautiful wooden trim. It is still incredibly shiny and helps tie together the interior.

Sitting ever present in the middle of the centre console is the infotainment screen that still fully working. It is through this screen that you can see and control the radio, car parameters, and climate control. This piece of tech is now a vital addition to any modern car and helps make this interior feel newer than it is.
Overall, the interior of this Bentley is in amazing condition. From front to back, left to right, it is filled with high-end materials that will make every journey out memorable. You can’t buy a modern car within this budget that would have an interior this plush, so why not pick up this instead?

The Exterior

  • Finished in Spruce Green
  • Timeless design
  • Great alloy condition
  • Perfect for any situation
Standing out from the crowd this Continental GT is in amazing exterior condition. From its beautiful paint colour to well preserved silver alloys it is one of those cars that will never look out of place at a high society dinner or the horse stables. It truly is a wonderful design that must sit within your collection.

As you’d expect from a luxurious product the paintwork is in lovely condition. If you were to look around the entire exterior, you would find it difficult to find anything out of place with this car's paint. Having spent so little time on the road it has been protected from any nasty or large stone chips. It really is marvellous to look at from any angle.

Fitted to every corner are the original split rim style alloy wheels. Today, almost 20 years since it left the factory, the alloys still look amazing. All four of the corners are presented incredibly well with little to no marking whatsoever.

The current owner believes that you will be getting one of the best examples of a Bentley GT on the UK market today, but can you question this thinking? The exterior is presented in such good condition that it could quite happily sit pride of place within your collection, so don’t miss out on this chance.

The Mechanics

  • Powerful 6.0l twin-turbo engine
  • Smooth automatic gearbox
  • Well serviced
  • Mechanically cared for
  • Drives amazingly well
When you open the bonnet to most cars you are usually met with one of two configurations, either an inline engine, or an engine in a V formation. This is where the Continental differs, under the bonnet sits a big 6.0l W12 (effectively two V6’s bolted together) this provides you with effortless and comfortable power wherever you may be.

With such a big engine it must be kept well serviced, luckily for you, this car has been privy to regular services which should mean it’ll troop on for another 30,000 plus miles.

That is the other enticing selling point of this example, is of course the low mileage. From new, this car has only covered 29,000 miles, a staggeringly low amount for a car like this. What this low mileage means is that you have enough time left with the car to experience all of its amazing attributes. You could, and should, take this car on some wonderful long European road trips during your ownership.

When you start the car, you will get a warning that tells you to visit a workshop due to a level sensor fault. This boils down to dust on the sway bar sensors, a simple fix that would cost no more than a couple hundred pounds. On the day of the photoshoot this was pointed out, however, the air suspension was then displayed to be working fine.

This will be an excellent addition to your garage, and you will forever kick yourself if you miss out on this example.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
