The Appeal
The first-gen Continental GT was a bold step by the boys in Crewe to get the brand back to what it did best. Blistering, thunderous performance with a massive 12-cylinder, 552bhp piece of kit under the bonnet, smart styling and a plush, luxurious cocoon in the cabin that spared no detail and offered all of the mod-cons.
Over £14,000 was invested in comprehensive works by a Bentley specialist in Exeter prior to the current owner's purchase in 2023. After the previous keeper failed to maintain the scuttle drains, the specialist undertook engine-out repairs, replacing numerous wear-prone components. As a result it's a fine example - especially compared to many Continentals of a similar seniority.
The vendor acquired the car specifically to complete Scotland's North Coast 500 and, having enjoyed it so much, kept it for over two years of memorable road trips. For those seeking a well-sorted early Continental GT with significant recent investment and a documented history of enthusiastic yet careful use, this is a fabulous luxury car from bumper-to-bumper.
