The Appeal

It’s fair to say that few knew what to expect when Volkswagen became Bentley’s new owners in 1998, but any doubts were soon quashed when the new Continental GT arrived in 2003. This supremely accomplished GT is without doubt one of Bentley’s greatest hits and sales figures confirmed they had a winning formula.

Here we have a very smart first generation Continental GT first registered in May 2004. Resplendent in silver, with a blue and cream leather interior, it’s a lovely example that’s very well preserved. Serviced in readiness for its next owner and with an MOT valid until June 2024, this is an opportunity you won’t want to let pass you by.

The History and Paperwork

  • MOT valid until June 2024
  • V5C present
  • Accompanied by a number of invoices from Bentley main dealers and marque specialists for past servicing
  • Two original keys
  • Four previous owners
  • 84,305 miles, confirmed by the MOT history
  • The vendor is willing to assist with delivery at a cost of £1.50 per mile from Harrogate

The Interior

  • Cream and blue leather interior
  • Blue carpets with protective overmats
  • Highly polished walnut veneers to the dashboard and centre console
  • Integrated infotainment system reportedly in full working order
  • We understand that all the switches function and we note they’re not excessively worn
  • Breitling analogue clock
  • Besides some creasing to the driver’s seat bolsters, there’s little in the way of wear
  • The headlining sags slightly, but does not appear to be marked
  • All the door trims present well
  • The dashboard and plastics appear free from UV damage
  • Electrically operated heated seats
  • Smart boot space with no notable marks or wear to the carpeting

The Exterior

  • The silver paintwork is in really good condition
  • Besides the age-related wear and tear you’d expect to see, we didn't see any notable scratches or any evidence of accident damage
  • Some deterioration to the alloy wheels, although no significant kerbing
  • All the trim and badging looks smart
  • Straight bodywork and underside
  • No signs of excessive corrosion or any notes to that effect on in the car’s MOT history
  • The vendor reports that the tyres are in good order

The Mechanics

  • 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12
  • Six-speed automatic gearbox
  • The vendor reports that it runs beautifully and drives very well indeed
  • Suspension and shock absorbers working exactly as they should
  • Strong brakes
  • Recent oil service and filter change
  • New battery fitted
  • No apparent faults

Summary

We’ve always loved the Continental GT and this is a particularly handsome example. If the idea of comfortable, stylish and brisk motoring appeals, this Bentley would be the perfect addition to your driveway.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you\'re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
