The Appeal

The very name ‘Ferrari’ is the pinnacle of respect in the automotive world and here’s an opportunity to be a part of that legacy by owning a 575 Maranello.

Finished in the only real colour of choice, Rosso Corsa. For the true motoring enthusiast, the engine is the world-renowned aspirated V12 sitting at the front which drives the rear wheels through the F1 paddle-shift transmission all of which provides poise and control on those twisty Italian roads.

Subtlety isn’t really in this car’s nature and yet it is very easy to live with and at least has some luggage space and a rear window you can see out of.

For a first foray into Supercar ownership, you probably couldn’t do much better than a 575

The History and Paperwork

  • Importation and Licencing documents
  • Irish MOT history
  • Original factory book pack
  • Service and maintenance invoices

Having first been registered in Ireland, the car comes with a history displaying its maintenance history there and importantly shows that the car has had the crucial cambelt and tensioner change has been done twice!

Firstly in 2013 and then again in 2019. Invoices also show a regular service schedule is being adhered to.

The Interior

  • Original factory leather interior
  • Excellent condition throughout
  • Popular colour combination
  • Genuine tool kit

A full tan leather interior greets you inside the 575 which shows little wear from the 62000 miles covered.

It would appear that it has been well cared for and treated with the respect it deserves. The ashtray appeared particularly clean so there’s the suggestion that it has not been a smoker’s car.

All the switches and stalks feel reliably positive and functional.

There’s an original book pack still in the car along with a fabulous factory-supplied tool kit which must be a Collector’s item itself.

This comes with a set of branded spanners, a couple of screwdrivers, pliers, bulbs and even a poly-belt, not that anyone would want to be attempting any roadside repairs.

The Exterior

  • Deep glossy red finish
  • Spotless alloy wheels
  • No record of accident repairs

The bodywork of this car is appearing to be clean and straight and does seem to suggest it has been well looked after. The paint finish is good with a deep shine but there may be a suggestion of it having a little bit of cosmetic paint done sometime in the past.

Condemning any vehicle of this age and mileage for needing a little touch-up is possibly a little unfair. It does look great in the traditional red and with the wheels being in such good condition it does give the car a very young appearance.

It is not without the odd expected blemish and there are a couple of stone chips here and there but nothing that should be considered a concern.

The Mechanics

  • Famous 5750cc V12 power plant
  • Paddle Shift gearbox
  • Good service record
  • Regular cambelt changes

What can you say about that V12 engine? It is considered by many to be the finest engine Ferrari ever put into a road car.

It starts with a bark from the exhaust and then settles into a delightful thrum, but with a poke of the gas pedal, it really does spring to life with an almost fighter-plane howl.

Let’s be honest here, this is not going to upset your neighbours each time you drive by, well not with the noise at least. What is reassuring of course is that the engine does have a decent history of servicing and the task of changing the cambelts has been done on schedule in 2013 and again in 2019.

The paddle-shift gearbox can take a little getting used to but should become intuitive quickly and it does seem change without hesitation.

Summary

It’s a Ferrari!

Of course, it's going to be desirable but bear in mind that sometimes people save up to buy their dream machine only to realise they don’t have the reserves to maintain it and therefore important maintenance is skipped much to the detriment of the car and the pocket of the new owner.

Not with this example because there is definitive proof this Italian stallion has been properly serviced and looked after which can make the world of difference to ownership costs in the future.

Not only that, it presents itself as a very clean and original car that is ready and willing for a bit of ‘High-Brow’ cruising whether that be on a drive to sundrenched Lake Como or just a drenched Lake Windermere, this Ferrari is just the ticket.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.

Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

Anti-sniping

Car & Classic prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.

Auctions are extended by 3 minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £9,999 £100.00
£10,000 to £49,999 £250.00
£50,000 to £99,999 £500.00
£100,000 + £1,000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.

You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

Pre-authorisation

We may hold a pre-authorisation charge on your card until the end of the auction when the hold will be cancelled. If you win, we'll take a security deposit which counts towards the payment for the vehicle and isn't any extra cost to you.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you're able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
