The Appeal
The X350-generation XJR marked a bold leap forward for Jaguar's flagship super saloon. Underpinned by a lightweight aluminium monocoque and propelled by a supercharged 4.2-litre V8 producing nearly 400bhp, it embodied the "Grace, Space, Pace" mantra for which the marque is renowned. Subtle exterior cues, the mesh grille, red 'R' callipers and quad exhausts, distinguished it from lesser XJs, while the cabin offered a sumptuous blend of leather, walnut and cutting-edge technology. Two decades on, the X350 XJR has earned a loyal following among those who appreciate a discreet, devastatingly quick grand tourer.
This 2004 example, supplied new by Jaguar dealer Rybrook of Warrington, is finished in midnight black metallic over ivory leather with walnut veneer. The specification is generous, encompassing Bi-Xenon headlights, a factory Multimedia Entertainment Package with rear screens, an Alpine 11-speaker sound system, radar active cruise control and 20-inch Callisto alloy wheels. The vendor describes the interior as being in very good order, while the bodywork and paintwork are reported to be in very good condition with only the odd minor blemish to note.
Crucially, this XJR comes with a reassuring history file. Nineteen services are documented, and the current owner has invested £4,923 in parts, servicing and maintenance since acquiring the car in 2023, including a new air suspension compressor, water pump, front wishbones, brake pipes and rear brake discs and pads. A Jaguar Heritage Certificate, original book pack, period brochures and extensive invoices all accompany the car, along with an MOT valid to March 2027. image.png1.83 MB
