The Appeal
Of the many flavours of 996 available, enthusiasts rate the C4S amongst the best. Potent and planted, these devilishly capable cars work particularly well with the 6spd manual box, as here. It is a high specification car that adds the convertible top plus a rare match hard top to its appealing mix.
It is also that most desirable of 996s, one with impeccable service history and just two keepers, the current one since 2017. The service history shows 16 stamps, all except the most recent by main dealers in Hatfield and Swindon. The most recent service was by blue chip specialist Autofarm in June 2025 when the brake fluid was also replaced. Other work includes new front discs and pads and a battery. The current MOT runs to July 2026 with no advisories but we are told the car will be sold with a fresh MOT prior to sale.
The car’s blue metallic paintwork and Metropole Blue leather cabin are both in really good order, as are the ‘Turbo Twist’ alloys and the hard top. The electric folding roof works correctly. It is a mark of the car’s condition and the seller’s approach that it received £3,360 of paint correction, polishing and protection work in February 2025.
Well specified, very well cared for and in great condition, this is the sort of 996 you want to find.
The vendor says:
“This car has been amazing to us over the past nine years and has been used as it was meant to be with many long continental tours completed. She is a great tourer and extremely comfortable on long open roads, I can go for hours without feeling the need for a stretch. The sport seats are supreme. Great with the hood down but equally good with the hood up or the hard top fitted. The Four Wheel Drive system means you can thoroughly enjoy the open roads without any apprehension! And the sports exhaust gives you a lovely soundtrack of that flat 6. We have not scrimped on keeping this example in top condition for extensive use. So has been back to the right people when anything needed doing.”
