The Appeal

After 25 years of production, in 2023 we saw manufacturing of the TT cease, having spanned three generations, producing 650,000 cars worldwide. Pioneering in its own right, the TT encompassed characterful design with impressive handling and performance, leading to domination in the entry level sports car market. Its name inspired by the Isle of Mann TT took where NSU (Audi’s predecessor) had massive success - offering the very best engineering VW Audi had to offer. Minimalist in design language, the car still feels forward thinking and the best examples are becoming coveted, as the early generation cars move into classic status.

With smart, unmolested Mk1 TT’s hard to come by, this presents an opportunity to pounce on an aspiring future classic. This facelift example is in stunning order and is backed up with a consistent service history file. The colour combination is fabulous and presents in a time-capsule-like condition. The Condition

Glacier Blue metallic paintwork presents beautifully with only very minor blemishes and imperfections - a few stone chips, some minor oxidisation on the roof channels and one small dimple on the bonnet
Front headlamps appear crystal clear - commonly cloudy on Mk1 TT’s
The 18” BBS RS2 Split-Rim alloys were a fairly rare option - we really like the look of them on this car, which clearly had a lot of very attractive (and expensive) options added when the car was ordered new
Wheels present in decent condition, albeit with some oxidation in places and minor edge-curbing
Correct BBS centre caps are present, as is the original Audi tool for removing them
Denim Blue leather interior has been very nicely preserved and is a magnificent welcome as you open the doors
Dashboard is very clean and bright
No obvious wear to the buttons, controls or interior trims
The digital ‘Drivers Information Display’ LCD screen within the instrument cluster looks bright and functioning as it should - common weak point on early TT’s
The original 'TT' kick plates are in excellent order
Black headlining beginning to drop
Dark carpets are all excellent inside the cabin. The trunk carpet has a mark the size of a penny
