The Appeal
As a modern classic, the E46 is practically perfect. Blending 00s-style driver engagement with just enough technology to avoid blunting the experience, BMW’s fourth generation 3 Series is also exceptionally easy to live with thanks to its reliability and comfort.
If a M3 is a bit too hard-core for your daily needs, the real-world choice of enthusiasts is the 330 with its superb M54 straight six, 230bhp motor. In ‘CI’ coupe mode it is one of the best coupes of the last 30 years.
The sheer drivability of these cars, and the enthusiasm of their owners, makes this one a rarity. It is a factory standard car, which sports an appealing colour scheme and very high specification. Thanks to the care of its quarter of keepers, it is in very good condition inside and out - there are few signs that this is a 20 year old car.
The service and maintenance records are equally impressive and tell the same story. The car has been regularly serviced by main dealers and specialists throughout its life, most recently around 8,000 miles ago in late 2023.
