Launched in 1997, the XJ8 was a car that, in many ways, had the world against it. It quickly became the winner of the prestigious L'Automobile piu Bella del Mondo - The Most Beautiful Car in the World - award in Milan. Everything here was built as an all-out attack on their market rivals, and it worked flawlessly.
When the X350 series came along in 2003 it may have looked similar to the out-going X308, but in reality it was a completely different animal. All aluminium body construction and improved powertrains made it significantly lighter and a much better car to drive.
