The Appeal

Introduced in 1995 as the 5th generation of the Porsche 911, The 996 model represents an important evolution in the illustrious sports car's history. Eager to fight off ever-tightening standards for emissions, the signature air-cooled flat-6 of the 911 was reaching the ceiling of its abilities - so it was time for a change, with a water-cooled iteration being fitted into a more aerodynamic, sleek - yet amiably familiar - body shell. The result was one of the biggest successes in the company's history - the very definition of a modern classic.
