The Appeal

During its infancy, Bentley was synonymous with luxury and performance and while the former remained part of the brand’s ethos under Rolls-Royce, some felt Bentley’s had lost their edge dynamically. All this was to change under Volkswagen ownership, with a return to their sporting routes marked by the arrival of the 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12 Continental in 2003. The Flying Spur was to be the four-door saloon variant and proved equally pleasurable to drive or be driven in.
We’re delighted to offer this very fetching 2006 example which has covered just 55,367 miles from new.

The Exterior

  • Handsome original metallic grey paintwork
  • Straight bodywork with no damage apparent
  • Very few paint blemishes, besides some light lacquer peel and the odd scratch on the bumpers
  • Very slight dents visible in both front doors
  • All the trims are in good order
  • The front Bentley badge appears to have delaminated slightly, although this is not especially noticeable
  • The alloy wheels remain very bright and appear in fine condition
  • Some of the tyres are somewhat perished, as is identified in the last MOT test
  • The underside is really well presented and seemingly devoid of any signs of corrosion or damage

The Mechanics

  • 6.0-litre twin-turbocharged W12
  • Six-speed Tiptronic / automatic gearbox
  • The vendor reports that it starts readily and runs very well
  • Ample power from its twelve cylinder engine, matched by very good body control and strong brakes
  • We’re informed that it drives without fault or any untoward noises
  • Annual service performed in readiness for its next owner
  • Besides the aforementioned tyres, no advisories were noted on the most recent MOT test
  • New battery replaced in 2021

It was clear upon release in 2003 that the new Bentley Continental was a masterstroke. This Flying Spur is in lovely condition and with low mileage and great service history, would be a great addition to your driveway.
