2006 Maserati Quattroporte Sport GT S-A

Please note the private registration "E8 RER" is not included in the sale

  • Just 23,425 miles from new, supported by the MOT and service history
  • Desirable GT S model boasting a number of handling enhancements
  • Very good main dealer maintenance history and substantial paperwork file
  • Clutch measured at 80% life remaining at the last service / MOT test owing to the vendor using the paddle-shift rather than automatic gearbox function
  • Presented in very good condition for its age: inside, out and under the bonnet

The Appeal

With elegant Pininfarina styling, boundless comfort and a Ferrari-derived drivetrain, the Maserati Quattroporte is quite possibly the ultimate modern GT. The fifth generation, produced between 2003 and 2012, remains a firm favourite amongst enthusiasts and it’s becoming something of a modern classic. The GT S version is particularly prized, with a raft of chassis enhancements affording it great handling and poise.

This handsome Pearlescent Black example dates from 2006 and has covered a mere 23,425 miles. In present ownership since 2013, it has been cherished throughout its life, spending much of its time indoors when not in use. There’s a substantial history file which accompanies the car, which includes a number of old MOT certificates servicing invoices and the original maintenance booklet detailing the dates and mileage intervals of its main dealer service history.

The History and Paperwork

  • The vendor is the Maserati’s third owner
  • The odometer apparently displayed around 10,000 miles when the car was acquired by the previous owner
  • The vendor purchased it on 31st January 2013 at approximately 12,000 miles
  • Current odometer reading: 23,425
  • MOT valid until October 2023 with no advisories
  • Good main dealer service history, detailed in the original maintenance schedule
  • Private registration "E8 RER" is not included in the sale and the vehicle will be sold with its original plate "HX56 LZH"
  • Original book pack and V5C present
  • Collection of old MOT certificates
  • Selection of invoices for work and servicing present

The Interior

  • Incredibly luxurious and in great overall condition
  • Attractive beige leather in fantastic condition for its age
  • The seats exhibit remarkably few blemishes and very little in the way of wear with no significant sagging or discolouration
  • The only abrasion we could make out was to the rear of the centre console, with a small scuff in the nearside rear passenger footwell
  • Only gentle wear evident on the steering wheel and pedals
  • The switchgear all presents well for its age and reportedly works
  • Parrot phone system discreetly installed
  • No signs of UV damage to the dashboard
  • Smart black carpeting with little in the way of wear
  • Presents well inside the boot
  • The headlining seems in really good order

The Exterior

  • Fabulous Pininfarina styling
  • Desirable GT S specific grille
  • Pearlescent Black paintwork in very good condition
  • The paintwork presents immensely well, with no significant marks
  • No evidence of any prior bodywork damage
  • The underside appears in really good order, with underseal having been applied in places
  • GT S alloys wheels with red brake callipers
  • The vendor points out some slight kerb damage to the nearside wheels, but this is not especially noticeable
  • All the trim and badging is in really nice order

The Mechanics

  • 4.2-litre Ferrari V8 engine
  • Six-speed DuoSelect automated manual gearbox sending power to the rear wheels via a transaxle
  • Bilstein single-rate damping
  • Lowered suspension over the non ‘S’ version
  • Brembo brakes from new
  • Good service history and low mileage ensure this example is in rude health mechanically
  • The clutch was measured at 80% life remaining at the last service / MOT test owing to the vendor using the paddle-shift rather than automatic gearbox function
  • Reportedly drives really well, with plenty of performance on tap and yet happy to cruise in serene comfort
  • Enersys SLA battery fitted and has been on permanent Cetec charger when in the vendor’s garage
  • No mechanical modifications according to the vendor

We’re very fond of the Quattroporte, especially one of this vintage in such a great mechanical and cosmetic specification as this.

With very few miles under its belt, especially considering its age, this Maserati is a prime example and we’re deeply envious of its next custodian.

About Max Bids

The max bid process allows you to bid without any hassle.
Enter your maximum bid and we will then bid on your behalf to ensure you're the highest bidder - just enough to keep you in the lead and only up until your maximum.

C&C prevent auction snipers from bidding in the last seconds to win an auction.
Auctions are extended by 3-minutes if anyone bids within the last 2 minutes to allow other bidders to react and counter-bid.

Auto-bidding increments

  • If your maximum bid is equal to or below the reserve price, your maximum bid will be applied in full if you are the highest bidder.
  • If you are the highest bidder and place a maximum bid above the reserve, we will automatically put in the reserve as your first bid.
    • Once the reserve has been met, Car & Classic will make sure you are the highest bidder using only the bidding increments stated below.
    • We will keep you in the lead up until your maximum bid OR the increment closest to your maximum bid, providing your maximum bid is enough to cover the increment value.

Bid Amount Increment
£0 to £10,000 £100.00
£10,000 to £50,000 £250.00
£50,000 to £100,000 £500.00
£100,000+ £1000.00

Automatically outbid immediately

When you place a max bid and are outbid immediately that means that another bidder has placed a max bid limit which is higher than yours.
You can bid again and we will use our automatic bid system to try and get you as the highest bidder.

Matching max bids

When there are two max bids of the same value, the one placed first remains the lead bidder.

What are pre-bids?

A pre-bid means you’re able to place a bid before the official start of the auction.
You will be notified whether or not you are the highest bidder when the auction starts.

Problem with your bid

Bids are contractually binding. To help protect you, we have some rules in place if we think it's been mistyped. Please check and amend what you have entered.
