The Appeal
They called it the Sport Coupe, and with good reason: the three-door version of Mercedes’ well-regarded W203 manages to be both coupe and hatchback, blending sporting intent with a healthy dose of practicality.
From 2002 the C200 Kompressor was fitted with the more powerful 160bhp version of Mercedes’ M271 1.8L supercharged 4cyl engine. This car adds the 5G-TRONIC gearbox that offers full automatic or semi-automatic options. It is finished in stand-out Fire Opal Red with a two-tone faux leather interior.
The interior is very well kept while the paintwork is in fair condition for the age. We are told that the bonnet has been repainted, but there remain some points to note to body and paintwork in photos. Recent work includes new brake lines, a stainless steel exhaust and rear lower suspension arms. It comes with lengthy MOT valid to May 2027.
Comfortable, stylish and capable of 40mpg, this W203 looks very usable.
The vendor says:
“This is an excellent car for its age and looks fast when parked (haha). The only reason I'm selling is that I got another car cheaply, and my son doesn't want it. The car has done many trips to Wales from NI with no problems whatsoever. I will be sad to see her go.”
