The Appeal
The S65 version of Mercedes-Benz’ handsome W221 executive saloon is the car where everything is dialled up to 11. Its 612bhp 6L V12 twin turbo engine has more power than anything in its class, and considerably more than most supercars. All while delivering the sort of cabin luxury and serene seclusion from the outside world that would be familiar to those with private jets at their disposal.
These were, understandably, incredibly expensive cars. In 2006, this car cost the equivalent of £250,000. Just a few hundred were produced each year and survivors now are exceptionally rare. This understated Tanzanite Blue metallic car has covered less than 66,000 miles in its life, all backed by a carefully maintained service history that runs up to recent months.
The present keeper acquired the car in 2024 from specialist Targa Florio. There is an invoice in the file documenting over £10,000 of work on the car at that time. A prior invoice from 2021 shows £3,000 of brake work. Since purchase, he has largely stored the car, covering a few miles and yet entrusting it to a local specialist for two oil changes.
Inside and out this brutally capable executive express is in very good order. It’s a fact confirmed by the current MOT, which runs to May 2026 with no advisories.
