Crucially for any 987 buyer, the engine was rebuilt in 2015 at 53,000 miles, and a bore scope carried out in March 2026 revealed no signs of cylinder scoring. The recent mechanical attention has been thorough: the steering rack and coolant pipe system were replaced in June 2023, the starter motor, AOS filter, and battery followed in June 2024, and the brake pads, discs, spark plugs, and ignition coils were all renewed in November 2025.
